For the production of quality copper alloys, the company Medeko Cast s.r.o. uses two methods of casting: centrifugal casting and gravity casting.
Centrifugal casting uses the pressure on metal that is caused by centrifugal forces in the cast metals at the mould rotation. The aim of this special production method is the increase of the density and accuracy of the castings.
Gravity casting uses metal moulds in which the melting is freely poured. After the hardening the casting is removed by opening the mould or by smashing it out of the mould. The advantage of the gravity casting is the flexibility which enables the production of castings of complicated shapes and also the creation of inner shapes.
